The Association Européenne des Conservatoires, Académies de Musique et Musikhochschulen (AEC) is a central partner in the ROLE project, bringing extensive expertise in Higher Music Education, international collaboration, and advocacy. Through its participation, AEC ensures that the project benefits from a strong communication and dissemination perspective, alongside the collective knowledge of conservatoires across Europe.

A hub for Higher Music Education

Founded in 1953, AEC represents almost 320 institutions across more than 50 countries, connecting conservatoires, music academies, and universities dedicated to professional music training. Its mission is to promote high standards in music education while fostering collaboration, innovation, and mobility among students and educators.

With its extensive network and long-standing experience, AEC provides an invaluable platform for sharing best practices, developing joint initiatives, and supporting emerging talents. Through projects like ROLE, the association contributes to strengthening the role of opera and classical music in contemporary society.

Communication and dissemination

AEC plays a vital role in sharing the work of the ROLE project with a broad European and international audience. Drawing on its extensive network, the association ensures that the project’s activities, resources, and outcomes reach educators, students, and music professionals across the continent.

Through its expertise in communication and international collaboration, AEC promotes the visibility of ROLE, highlighting its innovative approaches to opera education and cultural preservation. By connecting partner institutions with the wider music education community, the association amplifies the project’s impact, fostering engagement and dialogue beyond the immediate consortium.

Collaboration and vision

As a key partner in ROLE, AEC complements the musical and educational expertise of the conservatoires with its strategic communication and dissemination efforts. The association’s involvement ensures that the project not only develops high-quality outputs but also reaches a wide and diverse audience. Through this partnership, AEC helps secure a future in which opera remains dynamic, accessible, and inspiring for a new generation of artists and audiences.
